I am drawing a blank as to what to get my Mom. She is 75, we lost Dad a year ago, so she is living alone. Just got a new car, G37, her home is for sale and she will be moving to a +55 community.

At this point Tim she appreciates family being there. So I suggest you take her out to dinner of a nice late lunch. Somewhere she would like. Also a nice sweater is always good. Age tends to relieve people of body fat and they get cold easier. She will always want a sweater and a nice mom type sweater she will really like.

Attention , thats all she need IMO.
A sweater or a nice blanket.Keeps her warm and she can hold to it/cherish it.
Show you face on a regular base !!!:D:D:D

I went and saw both parents and aunts and uncles.

My mom is living alone too. She sold her house after my fad died. So she doesn't have room for stuff. She just wanted us to see her as often as possible.

This year we bought her one of those TV stand with a built in electric fireplace. It heats up the room nicely so she doesn't have to run the furnace as much and one thing she missed most from her house was the fireplace. She loves it.

Give her 'I'll take you to or make you dinner' coupons.... Family time is most precious.....

My daughter and me got our pictures taken. They will be ready on Saturday. Get some frames and we are good to go. The last sitting we did as a family my adult daughter was a infant. Wife does not like getting her picture taken. I will post them in Craig' s thread when I get them.

I buy my Mom a certificate for car washes at the hand wash place by her house. Keep that new car clean.Every year, that a nice dinner.

Do you make the pecans? If so recipe?

Never argue with a Moron, they will just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Candied pecans
Mix 2 egg whites and 1 tsp of vanilla till frothy.
Mix 4 cups of whole pecans stir till all coated.
In a crock pot, mix 1 cup white sugar, 1 cup brown sugar, and 1 tbsp ground cinnamon. Be sure to spray crock pot with cooking spray.
Pour pecan mix into crock pot and stir. Cook on low for 2 hours, stirring every 20 minutes.
Pour in 1/4 cup of water and cook one more hour until dry. Stir every 20 minutes. Keep the lid on while cooking.
Pour on wax paper and let cool.
