What happened?

I torqued all rockers to 23 ft lbs, non adjustable, I guess there's a bit more left to snug them up but not much.
I use the ole long screwdriver to the ear trick and I could hear some of the rockers louder than others, mostly around the #2, #3, and #7 cylinders
I guess the harmonic balancer being compromised would give the wrong timing, I'll have to check that with a piston stop.
I do plan on changing the oil just for the sake of it, it looks good though.
I'll have to get a oil pressure test kit to get a proper number for that.
I'll have to get this job done so I can have some time off to fiddle around with the engine.
I'm laying brick (ok, a carpenter laying brick...go figure) so either I'll finish laying brick by the end of the week, or I will lay a brick on someone's head, then I won't have to go back

It's possible the rocker arm studs have pulled out of the heads enough to make them loose. Could overheating have done this?

That's another possibility that I've taken into consideration along with weakened valve springs.

I'd be checking the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge.
