What kind of car is this?

I saw this pic on facebook, the car looks great. But, the motor or air cleaner color is not familar to me, and the wheels look like Magnum 500's. So what is it?

That year Comet is cool! Takes a bit of work to hot rod them, but fun when you are done! Eye catchers for sure!
