Whats the widest Tire?

Depends on many things. Sometimes you can mount a wider tire than will actually work on the car.

I have 15x8 Craiger S/S's on all 4 corners my '69. I have 225/60's in the front and 275/50's in back. Because of the width of the 275's, they are actually 1/2" taller than the 225's in front.

I couldn't run anything wider than a 225 in the front, because the tires already contact the front valance in full lock, either left or right.

The 275's in back I can get away with, because I have the wheel lips rolled completely flat. I could maybe even get a 295 back there, but it would be tight. The 275's fill the wheel well very nicely, though.

Got to one of the tire guy websites and see what the mounted circumference would be for various tires. Different makes and models of the same size tire may vary slightly. Unless you go with the exact wheel and tire on the exact same car with the exact same suspension, etc. there may and probably will be differences.

Better yet, go to your local tire shop, make friends, and see if you can get them to mount up a couple options for you to see.

Busy shops usually have quite a variety of old tires they pull off customer cars. If they have the time, my experience has been they will mount a few up on your rim(s) and let you take them home to check fit (if your project car can't be driven there). Gotta remember most of the guys we're talking about here are "car guys" themselves.
