When all your hair stands up and...

...you feel all tingly, you begin to realize that you might have put your elbow on a live wire. :craz

I just realized this a few minutes ago myself...seems that the cord on my soldering iron has bare wires showing through? :scar

Remember folks, it ain't the volts, it's the amps that kill you.

Sincerely,
Mad Ron the Sparky
PS: Craig, your dyn-o-mite sticks are coming along nicely. :rofl

Of course, since frying his brain, he no longer has any idea of what is going on around him anymore....

I distinctly remember saying "don't kill yourself" on this project!!!
I had a similar experience today, I was working on my buddies Stang in the garage, my wife comes in and says the dryer isn't working. So I clean up a bit and proceed to check out the dryer. It's electric 220v. I decided to check and make sure it even had power, but remember I'm not too bright when it comes to electrical stuff. I took my multimeter and touched the prongs on the partially unpluged cord to see if I had volts. Pow! Arc welded my multimeter and tripped the circut breaker. I guess I have power! (turns out it was the thermal fuse on the exhaust vent). I'm still alive too. :ep

I usually just open the door and see if the light comes on.... :beat

Hah, I got zapped for the first time a few weeks ago. Changing out an outlet for a friend and not really thinking I just grabbed it to pull it out after removing the screws and felt a funny tingling feeling rolling up my arm. Didn't really hurt, but didn't really feel good either.

Glad you didn't get hurt though!

I've been shocked so many times by so many diff voltages, I use myself as a flashlight at night!

Color blindness does not help when working on electrical wires!

I didn't know you were color-blind. I guess that explains the awful shade of Grabber Orange on your Cruzer-Chaser!

Hint: The spark is still a bright flash, no matter what the color.

I think you have GO (Gator Orange) confused with GO (gay....I mean grabber orange)

Dirrrect hit! :rofl I think the Cruzer King is taking on water already :rofl

I had a buddy call me this weekend. He had put in a freezer he got off CL and everytime he touched it, he got a tingle. Thought the freezer was bad, but wanted me to check.

Used a polarity checker on the outlet - reverse wired and no ground. This is a fairly new house, talk about a crazy, lazya$$ electrician.
