shims to set the endplay on a t5? dealers don't carry any t5 parts anymore & cant seem to find them on any of the websites. that's all i have holding me back from my trans swap...

Shoot, if you would ask Dave Sandborn, he'd tell you that he would make his own...
:sm_NTA

I might have some. Can you post the ID / OD and thickness' that you're looking for. Another thought is check with Macmaster Carr for generic shims.

inside measures 2 1/8" outside is 2 1/2" . need one that's .015 or a combination to hit that mark to get to .000 endplay. funny that as popular as the t5 is, nobody seems to carry those parts...

The two thinnest ones I have are 0.0115" and 0.015". PM me your address and I send the .015" off to you. I also have 0.021, 0.23 and 0.034 in case those will work with your combinations.

awesome!! Glad to hear youll be able to get that t5 in....Must be much nicer then my 3 speed lol

got the shims in today's mail! found the perfect one on the first try. :thu i'll get those sent back out to you first of the week. thanks again!

on another note, got the old one out & popped the tail/top cover off to have a look inside. have you ever been relieved to find something is toasted? found the problem, well at least a few obvious ones. the gear on the input has some chipped teeth, plus they are worn to the point that the edges are like razor blades. saw a gear about midway down the countershaft that chipped along with a major pile of metal shavings on the magnet in the bottom. also found these little pieces on the bottom magnet, not sure what they are off of;

How big are they? They look like the synchro dogs, but look too short. There are three on each synchro
