Which order do these bolts go together?

These are the ones that go through the trunk and connect the bracket/bumper to the body. Not really sure which order they go.
The original set I took off did not have the U thing or the rubber washer.

From the back to the front:
bolt
bracket
washer
foam washer
u-shaped shim (optional)
valence/light panel
lock washer
nut

Just looked in my trunk and underneath (bumper mounted) and it looks like the order you have them laid out in > from the inside of the trunk >out screw/large dished washer/rubber seal/body.
I couldn't see the U spacers but I'm guessing they are between the body/bracket if needed then bumper.
Best pic I could get from inside trunk, couldn't get a pic from backside of bumper:

Here's a pic of bumper off with the brackets installed, maybe the U spacers go between this and body? Hopefully someone knows:

Kat,
The order you have is right. The bolt and big metal washer go out to the rear from the trunk. The rubber washer goes up against the paint on the outside, then the u shaped shim between rubber washer and the bracket.

Randy may have said the same thing but it was too confusing to me.

No...I have it wrong.

From the outside towards the front:
bracket
washer
foam washer
spacer (if needed)
light panel
lock washer
bolt

The bolt screws from the inside of the trunk towards the back.

My bad.

What are you calling the lock washer? I've only ever seen that big metal washer under the bolt in the trunk.

I've seen the u-shaped shim against the paint, but I did mine the other way, as I wasn't going to risk the shim scratching the paint while I got everything tightened down.

The assembly manual calls for a lock washer under the bolt head.

Well.. got the bolts in and bumper on. Kind of. :amaz

Shiney new tail light bezels + new bumper... makes the gas cap dull and ugly. LOL

This side, the bolts are at angle and not going in straight or all the way causing it to stick out farther than the other side.

I think maybe the reason it's not going on straight is because it's repro pieces (bumper and brackets)? The original bumper/brackets I removed had no problems.

The old brackets are half rusted and gone, but I triple checked the new brackets were put on the same. I'll check again though.

Kat,
If you can't get the repro brackets to work and need a couple original brackets, I know this stud muffin who might have a couple pairs of them laying around.

Wait a minute homey and homeyettes!!!. According to the NPD catalog, the threaded holes which the bolt goes into to fasten the bracket to the car for the 65/66 are offset. Look at there item 17A750-1a. Yet the brackets Kat is showing has both left and right holes being in the middle like the 67/68 (NPD's 17A750-2A).

Kat, I have the 67/68 series which seems like you do as well.

I have the 66 brackets. They are offset like the originals below.

Ssolved the problem. It seems the trunk area where the bolts go, is pretty rusty and warped. The hole in the trunk area just needed to be a little larger.

The bumper isn't exactly even though, but damnit good enough!
