Dagnabit! Who changed the clocks on me? This really upsets my routine, sleep, drink, and eat habits (not necessarily in that order)! I'm pissed! Did one of you yahoo's do this? I want a confession NOW!

Grrrrrrr! :roulette :2guns :guns

After living in Az. from '72 thru '07, this time changing thing really does suck.............

Here it varies from getting dark at 9pm to 5:30pm through the year. That totally sucks, we got to be able to do better than that.

Sorry Mid, it pisses me off too. Good thing the light in the BEER fridge still works or I'd be lost.

I welcome this time of year with open arms!

It's already mostly dark as I'm pulling out of the office parking lot. I usually get to bed by 8-9PM (except during the World Series/Monday Night Football).

It's too dark to do anything outside by the time I get home and I go into "hibernating bear" mode until Spring.

All right, I'll step and admit that it was ME. I just love f'n with you old farts :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

And why does time not change in AZ? How do I get some of that here?

Because way back when, they voted that there was enough sunshine in the state that it would not make a difference. I think the temps. weighed in there too.

AZ and I believe some counties in Indiana do not follow daylight savings time.

AZ? Understandable. It's the winter home of 99.94% of our nations population of 80+ year olds. Time has no meaning for really old people.

A couple counties in Indiana? WTF knows what's going on up there.... I think the aliens did it.

Mid, just rotate your sundial 30* CCW and you'll be back to normal...

And we don't want to see what you use for a sun dial...........

Actually, the Navajo reservation in Arizona does go on DST. That's because half of it is in New Mexico and it was too confusing for them. I thought all of Indiana is now on DST.

I thought all of Indiana is now on DST.

Yep, that's me. A day late and a dollar short. The new law in Indiana is 4.5 years old and I'm just now hearing about it. Thanks Laurie!

The Dawning of DST in Indiana
Until April 2005, when Indiana passed a law agreeing to observe daylight saving time, the Hoosier state had its own unique and complex time system. Not only is the state split between two time zones, but until recently, only some parts of the state observed daylight saving time while the majority did not.

Under the old system, 77 of the state's 92 counties were in the Eastern Time Zone but did not change to daylight time in April. Instead they remained on standard time all year. That is, except for two counties near Cincinnati, Ohio, and Louisville, Ky., which did use daylight time.

But the counties in the northwest corner of the state (near Chicago) and the southwestern tip (near Evansville), which are in the Central Time Zone, used both standard and daylight time.

The battle between the old system and DST was contentious and hard-won—bills proposing DST had failed more than two dozen times until finally squeaking through the state legislature in April 2005. As of April 2, 2006, the entire state of Indiana joined 47 other states in observing Daylight Saving Time. But it wasn't quite as simple and straightforward as all that—telling time in Indiana remains something of a bewildering experience: eighteen counties now observed Central Daylight Time and the remaining 74 counties of Indiana observe Eastern Daylight Time.

I wonder who the other three states are that don't observe DST. I know Arizona is one...possibly Hawaii is another.

I just wish Florida was all one time zone. I live 10 miles west of the time zone line, and it sucks.
