Who needs water?

We've had a VERY wet Spring, early Summer. It's washed out the first 2 track days and filled the local COE lake to the point where the boat ramps have been closed now for a week. They've had the flood gates fully open now for a week and it's only come down to the top of the dock rails! Last week you couldn't even see the dock :ep

Here's where it's normally at:

How do you want the water? Glass, bucket, drum or tanker?

Any method....your choice....if you haul the oil back with you, I will trade 2 oil fresh from the gulf per one water

Send some of that h2o to norcackalack. (that's "street" for North Carolina) We've been sitting the past 2 weeks on 95*-102* days with nada drop. It's freakin' blistering. Considering I've spent everyday outside getting stuff ready for the 4th I think I've sweated off about 10 lbs.

No, i didn't get flooded. That pic was taken inside Opryland Hotel, about two miles from here, and forwarded to me.

Most of the Northern California lakes are at capacity this year, too. It really SUCKS big time, as it's probably the best and will be the longest boating season we've had in a decade or more. There's still a LOT of snow pack up in the Sierra Mountains that hasn't even melted yet, at the end of June!

I haven't been able to get the boat out a single time yet this year. With my chemo sessions, I just don't have the strength to make my usual leap from the bow of the boat to the dock to go fetch the truck/trailer.

I suppose we could be like all the other lame ducks out there, and hold the boat to the side of the dock and get in everyone's way, but I can't bring myself to be that lame yet. My wife and I usually launch the boat in 5 minutes and land it in the same amount of time. I drive it off the trailer, as she backs us the final few feet into the water, then she drives the boat onto the trailer, as I back it into the water when we're done for the day.

Oh, well. Hopefully we'll get another good boating season next year. Last year the lake was close to boat launching before the end of July it was so low.

we still have standing water in some fields and a few closed roads. Good news though, Beach Bend is back to normal after being completely under water!
