Clear skies this week. Last week, on Friday night.... Bryan area did get covered in smoke and ash was falling and left a thin layer of it on cars at the meet.

I just took a group of kids camping at Possum Kingdom lake a couple of weeks ago and the place where we camped is toast. That part of the state was tinder dry and is choked with juniper and red cedar. The fires are bad for the area in the short term, but it will improve the overall ecosystem in the long haul. The native liveoaks and mesquites will survive, but the introduced trash trees will be cleared. THose of us in DFW area will be fine. It is raining here.

I wish I had one those fires go thru my farm . I still have 40 acres a brush piles to get rid of. Of course the fire would not just burn were I wanted it too. The fires are 150 miles from the farm so my acreage is safe for now. Just getting ash from the blowing smoke in Allen.

It's been great weather this season for the boys' baseball without a single rain out but it's getting super dry here. That's bad news when it's already this dry and we haven''t even hit the typically dry summer months as yet.

Starting to wish we would get a good tropical storm.
