Why are links to youtube video's so large now?

I have a link to a video of my car painted in my signature and it used to just show the address as a hyperlink. Now it shows the full size video. What is going on? Do I need to add the link a different way or eliminate it entirely?
 
Someone must have changed the settings. The complaint is that with the youtube like that it slows down the page loading too much. I am sure that it will go away soon.

It's a mod I installed and am testing. So far it does not seem to be too big of a hog. I need to look into resizing the window though.
 
At the moment I only have it setup that way for youtube and facebook. any other video links should stay as links.
 
I noticed this last night and if you go to the youtube link you can use the "short" link and it does not show the full video, just a hot link. For example, see my exhaust link below my sig pic. Hover over it and it shows the shortened link.
