Going to rend lake (southern Il.) for 5 days starting sunday, I told them when I started I had this planned. 4 of us rent a mobile home in Benton Il. that is pretty nice, washer/dryer /linens and towels provided, we buy some food when we arrive, all kitchen supplies are there. We fish for catfish.

I have an old coca cola sign from the 50's that came from a store in rend lake. have fun! we haven't been anywhere in almost two years. i'm so past ready for a trip somewhere away from here....

We went to Yankee Meadows in Parowan UT this morning. I was impressed withthe area and how many fish were jumping. I wish I had taken the fly rod since they looked like they were feeding on the top.

We caught two rainbows and the dogs went swimming.

There seemed to be a snag right where we were fishing, so we lost a bunch of tackle including one of my favorite lures. :shrug :guns

Have fun.

I have a great recipe for catfish.

Get a nice piece of oak from Home depot. Place the fish on the wood. Brush the wood and fish with olive oil. Season with garlic, onion, salt, pepper, paprika, chili powder and a pinch of cumin.

Place in the BBQ grill until the fish looks done.

Remove the fish.....

Then eat the wood!

I'm not a fan of catfish can you tell?

Have fun, they are fun to catch.

Fixed it for you :bowdown

Good luck fishing

I just got back from Jim Falls tonight and FINALLY landed my first sturgeon, 40" Lake, I know it's small for sturgeon but I was happy to get one! :thu :thu

I'm also not fond of catfish, I guess if you put them in a cow tank full of clear water overnight the tank will be muddy water in the morning then you put the fillets in milk to get the greasy taste out.... But I still prefer walleye.
