1959 GM Assembly line pics

Neat pics, I got the sense that everything was "heavy duty" just from the pics, they didn't yet know how to build them "cheap!"
 
Pretty cool. Hard to believe they didn't get over spray from one paint job on to another. Notice most painters didn't even wear a mask at all?

For those of you into our history, here is one that I find cool

In 1955, Hughes Aircraft Company purchased the Nash factory that was on Imperial Highway (right across from LAX). Here are a couple of pictures from that building right after the sale. This building is also where all of the F-14 radar systems (AWG-9 and APG-71) were produced in the 70's through late 90's.
