289 / 5.0 Oiling System Issues

Are 289 / 5.0 Blocks known for having oiling issues at High RPMs??? Hot Rod TV recently did a show where they tapped the rear oil passage and ran a hose to the forward passages to provide additional lubrication to the lifters... I have never heard of these motors having an oil issue... is the TV Show just selling a sponsor's part???

Saw the same mod done to a 5.0 on Horse Power this past weekend. Since that episode didn't really specify any particular manufacturer or supplier for a kit per se, I don't believe it was done as a sales pitch.

There can be oiling problems with lifters and high lift cams. Sustaining high RPMS makes it even more of an issue.
