3g Alternator

If you put in a 3g alternator, what happens to the old external voltage regulator that sits next to the radiator? From the looks of it you have the power wire that goes to the battery with a fuse in between, obviously you have a ground, but what happens to the other connections and the original external regulator? I have a 68 mustang that I am thinking in terms of. Any how have pictures/explanation of what happens?

Thank you,

On my 66, I just tossed my external regulator in the trash. And when I redid the wiring harness, I removed the unneeded wires.

+1, on my '69. Unless you want the stock amp gauge (mine never moved anyway) then use the monkeystash-linked item I suppose.

guess I jumped the gun on this one :roul looks like they don't take returns either so looks like I will either use it or try and resell it I guess.
