A little peeved

I'll pay it when I have the extra money. Meaning within the next week. Husbands paycheck hits tomorrow... and income tax return should hit soon.

I was just looking at them. I couldn't get one even if I wanted to. Its one of those "if I won the lottery" dreams. Too much work would have to be done on Gertrude to be able to handle one before I could even think about putting one on her. If I had that kind of money to spend, I'd get body work & paint job!

Gotcha

I'd walk. No one is going to take you to court for $300 and change. Why not get some "u tube video" of the animal abuse. That would put him out of business real quick, then walk.

if you want a cheap blower, sounds like you need to get that office manager to ride with you... :roll

as far as getting jumped on for not over billing the customer, i would have said "oh, i'm sorry, i knew you were f@#*ing the boss , but didn' realize that you wanted to f$%^ the patients too..."

Yep...that would have ended the B.S. that you endure at the part-time job and put a big smile on your face as you were being escorted out. :thu

Just quit already. Don't do anything to cause trouble or an argument. Don't "fix" the computer. Just quit. It is a part time job for crying out loud. You will not have to see or deal with these people ever again. Just walk away and leave them to their problems. A LOT of small, "family" businesses are just like this one. You have your worthless related employees, the office affair no one is supposed to know about, etc. They are run poorly and as a result suck as a place to work. So find a new job and laugh this one off. The last thing you want to do is say or do something that can come back to bite you. I'm sure like many businesses, the local vet community is pretty small and you can find yourself unfairly labeled as a bad employee by doing something stupid. So don't.

No worries there. I wouldn't do anything stupid or crazy. I'd make some reason up for why I have to quit instead of the truth that 'this place sucks, goodbye.'

Oh yeah.. yesterday was interesting. Luckily it was just me, the Dr, and the other tech - the guy. No manager or her daughter. Anyway I was in the kennel room putting way some laundry when the guy tech comes in and says "make sure to check the surgery room that it's clean because I just swept up tons of hair so it didn't get cleaned yesterday".

:wtf :rant

When I got to work yesterday, I saw the surgery room door open and knew we had two spays that morning so I asked the daughter specifically, "did you already clean the surgery room?" and she said YES, it was all clean. I asked 'ok so nothing I need to go do in there, everything is good to go in there?". She said yes.

Ok. Wow she did something..... something like WORK. :thu

WRONG. Obviously she did NOT clean the surgery room. I told the guy tech what I just told ya'll. That I asked and was told it was cleaned. He told me that this girl doesn't exactly know what she's doing and she's really only there to help answer phones. No F'n way. Seriously??!! :wth Oh hell no. That was the last straw that made me start figuring out my plan how to quit gracefully and GTFO of that place.

:wtf is right. How about....mmmm....I don't know....maybe "I quit"? The place is a freakin' soap opera. Why make more drama?

Dang....I was joking about "fixing" things.....I think Kat has more going than to do that.

I do think just walking out is what you need to do. They need no notice since they are creating a hostile working environment. As long as you have nothing signed keeping you working to pay the small debt, I would be gone.

I don't want to burn any bridges but I'm sure after only working there 3 months, it will. :shrug I'd like to still be able to get a job working at a clinic if that's what I choose to do after I leave this one.

It doesn't sound like telling them that you are quitting will burn any bridges.......It sounds like exactly what they want you to do so they don't have to fire you. They are just seeing how much sh*t you will eat before you throw in the towel. Common practice really.

You possibly can get unemployment if you quit under duress type conditions. I worked for an place for 6 years and the owner was an alcoholic. After he continued to come in at 10am soused, I walked after a harsh discussion. Applied and got unemployment.....of course I had another job soon and only pulled $17 in unemployment....

Go find that job now while you are still working. It will look much better to possible new employers. Simply tell them the situation...that you are not getting enough work hours. Leave all the soap crap left unsaid, obviously.

If they did want me gone and trying to get me to quit and not have to fire me... why not just fire me? I know for a fact the manager has NO issues firing people. She told me. Thats how I got my job. She fired 2 employees and then hired me (one person) cause I could work whenever. No schedule conflicts.

That's just it. Right now, I don't need a job. It's just something for me to do to get out of the house and some extra spending $ for my '66. Another reason this job isn't worth the politics and BS. Not like I need a job to support the family. If I got another job, I'd try to find one in another vet clinic and right now, no clinics are hiring in this town. The job openings are rare and only pop up like once every 6 months it seems.

And here I thought my daughter's work(another vet hospital) was a Peyton place, but reading this thread just makes me want to:

Because if they fire you then you could file for unemployment and they would have to give an excuse for the reason for firing. Chances are you'd walk away with your unemployment benefits.
