a widgit question

Yes, I have a widgit, at least I think it's a widgit! On my '67, there are two little clamps/clasps(widgits) which hold the fuel line and brake line along the driveshaft tunnel. How do I activate these clips? Do hit it with a hammer, twist it, what??

If my memory has not failed me; you take pliers and pinch the center section to lock them in place and a screwdriver to spread them apart to remove.
