Anyone Bought A Refurbished Slot Machine?

When I was at the Barrett-Jackson auction last weekend there were two vendors selling refurbished casino slot machines. The prices aren't bad and I think it would be fun to have one instead of a piggy bank. ;)

Anyone here ever bought one and, if so, did you have any problems with it? I'm looking at a quarter slot three-wheel machine probably.

although a little older than the one's you were looking at, I have these two mechanical machines from 1937 & 1946. we have a blast with them. you would enjoy one. :thum

I would think that some states may outlaw the ownership of slot machines, no?

yes, they are illegal here in tn, but they don't bother anyone who has a couple in their house & no "organized gaming" is taking place. I think most of those like laurie was looking at are made to work on tokens instead of money for the states where they could be questionable.

I've done my research, they're legal in Arizona. I might take it down to Mexico, however, for my game room.

We bought a refurbished slot machine many years ago. It is a 3 wheel progressive 777 quarter machine. Machine is about 60% mechanical and the rest electronic. We had a short in it last year. Called the only technician in Tucson we could find. He didn't make house calls. Machine is heavy and bulky. Finally fixed it myself. If I hadn't it would have been a pain in the A__ to haul it down to the south Tucson area to have someone look at it who couldn't guarantee that he could fix it. Moral of story is buy a machine that is mostly mechanical with very little electronics or a very modern machine that is easy to work on and the parts are readily available.
