If I waited for 2 extra hands to show up everytime they were needed, I'd never get anything done.

Place a couple folded up bath towels along the cowl/fender edge, lay the hood onto them, temporarily prop the hood up with a stick of wood,

wood slips out towels slide gust of wind from open garage and all things that could go wrong

hood looks good nice work

Damn, that does look good!

How much clearance is there between the top of the air cleaner and the underside of the hood/scoop? i.e., will the engine hit the hood under torque?

Thanks Dave. And ss it sits right now, I'm pretty sure the torque will make it hit. I just sat in on there last night for a test fit. I will have to take it over to Dad's shop and chuck the base up in the lathe and take a good 5/8" off the mounting plate.

I have already machined it down once because it had a stupid 4" tall mounting base on the plate.
