I saw them once when I was a kid many many moons ago and that's probably true for most of us.
Early 60s we used to vacation at Devils' Lake Wisconsin. Near by was Baraboo Wisconsin the former home of Ringling Bros. I remember going through town and watching as the elephants got a bath in the river. Now it is the home of Circus World a circus attraction. Ringling should have set up a casino in Vegas years ago.
A high school classmate joined Ringling right after graduation to be a clown. Last I heard he was still there in a management position.

High school buddy went to clown college in Orlando, friends with him on faceybook. He is devastated, his post is where I heard about it first.

I guess that means I won't be storing the circus train for them as planned this summer!
Sad, but with all PC crap you can't even have a freak show anymore. As soon as the pulled the elephants it was all over.
We took our daughter to a very small circus last summer. Different company, but a memory.
