I was watching a re-air of the Mecum auction from a couple weeks ago. There was a REALLY nice Mach 1 that rolled across the block and the announcer said the owner spent $40,000 on four original polyglas tires and an original autolite battery. The car sold for good money, $140,000+ IIRC. Black on black with the red mach stripe. I think $40k is a bit steep. Wadda you think?

That is just crazy! I could hand carve replicas out of solid rubber for less than that!
