How to highlight text in a PDF file

Comments menu. Select "Show comments tool bar", select highlight tool next to the rubber stamp It will only highlight text, not graphics. May need to OCR the text first, but acrobat will force that.

Adobe Acrobat Reader will not allow you to highlight text, but Acrobat Standard will work for you.
