I hate lazy receptionists

I have BCBS and if you call them and get a name and phone number, you can ask the DR office to call them and they will verify the co-pay amount.

No..they won't. That was my initial bitching post. They didn't have the manpower or time to call to verify insurance because they would be on hold too long, etc. So they don't and won't call to verify stuff.

I think what the problem is, is that not many Drs offices around here are familiar with HRA plan we have. We have $1800 a year for the family to spend on medical stuff. We don't pay a dime out of pocket until we've used up our $1800. After that 1800 is gone, then that is when we pay the 10% of the bill and the other 90% is covered by the insurance.

Oh, I see.

Well, the day has been crappy for me, so I can't think straight enough to give you any good ideas. You should get that hand looked at soon though even if you go to ER....

If you've been working on the car a lot gripping tools, etc that will do it to you.

Exactly what RustyRed said. Wal Mart sells a wrist brace that will help a lot.

I painted my doctor's 2010 Camaro so whenever I need something minor or a prescription called in I just text him. He takes care of it and texts me back in a few minutes.

Found a different Dr office/urgent care walk in clinic and went to it this morning. I was in no mood to argue about insurance crap so said whatever and paid the $125 to be seen. Would have been cheaper to go to the other place where the receptionists are rude and won't call... but they pissed me off so I won't ever give them a damn dime.

Anyway Dr said since I can't recall hurting it by physical activity, it's more than likely not sprained/broken, but it is the carpal tunnel that is being pushed on by tendons making it sore and painful. He also said might not be carpal tunnel syndrome since it just appeared one day, but that doesn't mean it isn't. He wrote a RX for some steroids which I will have to go pick up here in a little bit at Walgreeens. Starting with a high dose, then tapering down over 12 days. If no improvement in a week, come back and they will recheck it and if needed refer me to a specialist where they can inject something and check. :shrug

Sounds like he prescribed Prednisone. Be prepared to have your acne disappear and your appetite to increase by a factor of 2.

I'm glad to hear you finally got it looked at! Good luck with it.

With my issue, I saw my surgeon today and told him about it and asked if he knew the doctor I am thinking of going to. He didn't know him personally but liked him. He told me it will be a good change. when I told him the old doctor's staff told me their doctors didn't call patients and I would not get a phone call from him, my surgeon, furled his brow and his mouth almost hit the floor. He said that is garbage, a doctor should always make or take the time to call their patients, specially if the patient asks them to even if it is not about a procedure and just an issue of double billing like mine.

He said in private practice the doctor may not deal with the billing directly but is the boss since he is either part owner or the owner of a business.

Bottom line is that I am changing next Wednesday and will have all my doctors on the same computer system and they all will be able to communicate with each other very quickly.

Anyway, I am glad for you Kat that you are getting care for your wrist.

Yeah that's why I got. Have to take it for 12 days. Starting at 4 pills/day for 3 days, 3 pills/day for 3 days, 2 pills/day for 3 days, then 1 pill/day for 3 days.

maybe being too much like Chuck?

Wrist itself feels a little better but still sore. Oh and now the top of my hand hurts. :shrug

You know, hitting the back of your hand with a hammer will do that...take two stiff drinks and call me in the AM.
