The area around our property is not overly developed and there is a stream that runs smack dab through the center of the property.

We have an abundance of native wildlife across the street as it is all national forest land.... mostly swamp land.

I don't have a fear of snakes, but I do respect them and then shortly after grabbing my shovel kill them. I've seen and killed maybe 2-3 snakes all year. Snakes like "cool" places, like the slab of my garage floor. I've instructed eldest son to be careful when reaching around into a dark shelf as he may get bit.

So here's my payback for being a good dad.

It's difficult to see in the video, but eldest son bought a rubber snake and using a piece of clear fishing line "moved" the fake snake as I walked into the shop door. Of course he video'ed the whole episode for his later enjoyment.

 
Sorry Dave that was pretty funny.

I do that to my wife, except I use a plastic rat....scares the life right outta her. She has returned the favor a few times though.
 
I had to watch twice to even notice that you HAD a reaction. At least you didn't scream. :danc

The RV park at Tyndall AFB is spread out thru the woods. We walk the roads a bit and all I have to do is point to a stick and say "snake". Wife screams and I run to get out of reach of her cane........funny as hell though.

I guess I should explain the "F you Joe" comment I made. It's a private joke between the two of us.... well, it was, but since I'm about to tell you the story it's now a semi-private joke.


Several months ago my son walked into a local bar ("Friends" is the name of the bar) looking for my brother. My brother wasn't there... which was odd because he's ALWAYS there..... and my son turned around and started to walk out. A guy at the bar (Shaun) called him back. Joe didn't immediately recognize Shaun, but upon introductions remembered him from years ago. Shaun is my ex-sister-in-laws brother and just about lives at the bar with my brother. Since Joe and Shaun used to hang out when they were kids, Joe sat down and proceeded to get shit-faced with Shaun.

Joe had just returned from working overseas for 4 years..... and before that lived in CA for 6 years.... and before that AZ for 2 years.... and before that 4 years overseas again... so the only recollection he had of Shaun was when they were 10-14 years old. This was within his first couple weeks of returning to this area so he was still feeling his way around.

Shaun is one of those guys who when drinking for awhile starts to look for a fight and he's also the one guy you wouldn't want to ever get in a fight with. The MF'er has an iron jaw and will kick the crap out of most people he encounters.

Apparently Joe said something Shaun didn't like and Shaun went to the other side of the bar to hang out for awhile while Joe started BS'ing with some other bar patron. Out of nowhere, Shaun appeared behind Joe and roundhouse punched him in the side of the face. Around here we call it a "sucker-punch" as the "sucker" never sees it coming. Joe goes flying off his barstool into the guy next to him, starts to get up and Shaun nails him again straight in the face. By this time other patrons are holding Shaun back and Joe is getting up again saying "WTF Shaun? WTF?"

The only words Shaun spoke were "F You Joey..... F You".... over and over again as the crowd kept the two seperated and escorted Joe out the front door.

We haven't gone back to that bar since and have put the word out that Shaun had better grow eyes in the back of his head. We will meet again and I expect there to be trouble.
 
that dude has a glass jaw. Looks like a glancing blow to me, and he fell to the ground. :wtf . Although, I will be surprised if blount is not done for the season after that one.
