rear floor extension

So, I bought these.

What is the humped area for? I'm taking about the hump that runs diagonally front to rear. My floor pans don't have it, but these replacements do.

I think it's provides clearance for the parking brake cable... and believe it is intended for the 64.5-66's or something like that.

Yep, for the parking brake cable. Not all 65s had them. I can't remember if it was early or late cars. Old age....
 
I know on my 68, the brake cables rubbed the floor pan and eventually rubbed or rusted some pin holes in the pan.
