Replacing '67-'68 lower door hinge

Is it reasonably possible to replace the lower door hinge without removing the front fender?

A friend has tried to do this without success on his 70 convertible. He tried some crazy shaped offset wrench that another guy said worked. It didn't. I will watch this topic for others input. :pop

I say yes, You'll have to remove the door first, make some sort of gauge to insure when you install the new hinge that you get the door plate portion oriented such that it is where the old hinge was or should be. I rebuilt my hinges without removing the pillar portion off the A pillar... Looking at my pics it looks like there is room to fit wrenched in there with the door out of the way.
