I did, and then i decided to go with one too. So far i have had no problems maintaing a good constant oil pressure with a standard volume pan.

I'm running a HV pump, no problems here in 4 years and my engine spends the majority of its time between 5,000 and 7,000 rpms.
 
That hideous thing got posted on "the other site" a while back. I can safely say that it doesn't improve with age.
