The hidden rust

I am in the process of removing the shock towers on my stang to make way for a Mustang II setup but I just hate finding this sneaky rust between the seams.

You think you have a nice media blasted rust free body but no.....does acid dipping get rid of this?

It might remove the rust (by dipping), but just try and get the remnants of the acid out of the crack. Since all of the unibody Mustangs were spot welded together, every joint can exhibit that corrosive effect. That's why Ford put in the seam sealer, but I don't think they planned on a 40 year preservative.

The best you can do is to fix the rust where ever you encounter it, but you'll never make the car totally rust-free.

Take it from Randy...he's got cracks full of rust :naug......Oh the car....never mind. :dumas
