found these at the market this morning & had just been put out. 1.5" thick & a little over 1lb ea. so had to take them home. soaked them all afternoon in my special mix.

put them on the grill around 6:30.

pulled them off the grille & ate them!

after the grille cooled down, decided to do a little cleaning & found that the whole bottom is burned out. it looks like its a sheetmetal box around 18ga thick with the typical cast aluminum end caps covering it. i think i'll look around for some 14-16ga stainless & rebuild it. never "hotrodded" a grille before!

Looks good Steve, my go to steak seasoning latly has been:

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 teaspoons Montreal Steak Seasoning
1 teaspoon Espresso Powder

Mix all ingredients well and rub on both sides of one steak and let sit for at least one hour. More time is better.

my mixture is :

crown royal
soy sauce
a splash of teriyaki
seasoning salt
crushed red pepper
steak sauce

time permitting, i like to let them soak in that starting the night before & flipping them over in the morning.
