wanted 1969 mach 1 rust bucket project

You're welcome to post this as many times as you like but it's not going to change your chances of finding what you're after if you stick to that price range. You're well short of the going rate for even a "basket case".
 
I agree, I'm afraid those days are gone. Even Mustang II's are starting to command prices like that. But you could get lucky.
 
I know where there is a 70 yellow rust bucket with a humongous hood scoop on it, that the owner is trying to unload dirt cheap. He's in Olathe Kansas. :sarc
