Ford Festival at Irwindale

Always on vacation!
June 14th. This should be very fun. Put on by the Ford Council. The FFF folks. They are still trying to bring back Knott's.

What's everyone think?

Hopefully it will work out. The folks running it are idiots so hard to say if they can make a good event.

They ran Knott's. I know not saying much but it did run 30 years.

They have proven to be poor communicators and even jerks to anyone that tries to offer them constructive criticism. I hope it works out, but I am not planning on attending.

I have a slight problem with the 15 dollar spectator fee. So not only not entering, not going.

Am I missing something here???? Spectators at a car show are people who do not have a car registerd for the show. Are you suggesting that in addition to registering a car, I would need to pay a spectator fee to actually see my car in the show field???

If not, then how is the spectator fee relevant to us?

Taking a guess that if you enter a car the spectator fee does not apply. Now passengers in the car idk. But a fee to see a car show, why?

I guess they know that the Good Guys car shows do the same and must rake in some cash so why not. I'll be in Wisconsin this June so no, not going. But probably wouldn't anyway.
Its on to Am Graff in August.

In addition to Good Guys, Hot August Nights charges admission for a number of events for spectators, Graffiti in Modesto, Pebble Beach Concours events, Palo Alto Concours, just a few of the other ones I can think of off the top of my head. I suppose spectator admission offsets the registration cost for the car owners and sends a message of exclusivity that not just any riff raff will be allowed in. If you pay $15.00 spectator admission and have 1500 cars on display, it pencils out to one cent per car!! LOL

Modesto Graffiti also charges an entrance fee. $5 or $10, and discount coupons are offered. I think flat $15 is too much.
