First of all welcome to StangFix. Sure sounds like starving fuel to me.

Its gettin enough fuel. All new lines and pump. That was our first guese.

My Ferrari neighbor says it's the fast idle cam. Get some carb cleaner and spray around the cam area. Sounds to be gummed up.

Now u mention that it may actually be that so ill have pick some up and then post if it works.

Tried carb cleaner and didnt work. Its gettin fuel i know cause its spittin it out of the carb. Maybe its timeing or spark.

Try this assuming you still have points and a condenser, using a nail file which you would steal from you wife, girlfriend, mistress or all three, lightly file the points. I would take it one step further and get another conderser and jump it to the old one which might be fried.

New gas tank also? If it's the same old tank you've likely sucked some crud into the carb. If you have replaced the tank.... are you sure the choke is disengaging? Triple check the choke power wire to make sure it's not grounding out anywhere on the carb.

I had an edelbrock carb do the same thing once after sitting for almost two yrs. it ended up being one of the passages that had gummed up while sitting. pulled the top of the carb carefully so as not to mess up the needles that hang underneath & took a sewing needle & ran it thru all the passages. put the top back on & it idled/ran fine afterwards.

Tank was on car for 1 yr prior to me useing it. And never had gas in it that whole yr.

It has whole new distibitor with all new points and condensor. But ill look into that.

Didnt pull carb yet to check that since it was spraying fuel good but ill look into that also.

Sure sounds like a carb issue. after sitting for two years probably needs a good cleaning or an overhaul

Ye i do plan to put electronic disrobutor but got to get runnin first. Ill just pull carb appart and give cleaning since it cant hurt.
