69 Mustang Factory Disk Brakes (pics) Questions?

I picked this set up at a pic and pull yard from a 69 S code today . I'm curious if they are indeed factory disks for a 69 or something else. Any help, or where i need to look would be appreciated. By the look of the caliper bracket on the back, i say they are indeed 69, but who knows.

Whats it worth? I think i got a pretty good deal, and have no problem divulging the price i paid (Anbody wanna guess) once i have a good understanding of its value.

I was planning 67 KH brakes on my car, but would like to use these since i have them now. Also to swap these on a 67, what else will i be needing? TIA

They appear to be the correct, but the part number will tell for sure. The '70 are beefier and have a D0 part code. Not sure what changed in '71, but 71-73 spindles have a D1 code.

They should have a C8 part code.

On the back of the spindle is C8OA then on the second line it looks like 31 and i cant make out the last 3 or so digits.

they should bolt-on. I put 1970 spindles on my first 67. IIRC you will need the matching tie rod ends

I guess I'm spoiled living in a rust free zone, but I wouldn't pay more than $50. Saw a rust free set up like that at a swap meet 2 weeks ago priced at $150.

Sorry, I have to agree with 1497 to, IIRC '69 calipers are pretty cheap to replace ($50 each?) and those ones are likely seized, the rotors might be usable with turning, depending on the wear depth, figure in new bearing too. At least you have the required spindles.

Yes, the spindles were the main concern for me along with the backing plates and the caliper brackets / shields. All are in fine condition. The pictures look worse then they are. The rotors were turned today. I was surprised that the parts stores want 70 dollars each for new ones, and only $20 plus a core for calipers.

+1... I got a set of 68 spindles and brackets, no calipers and only 1 backing plate for around that and think I did ok...

Thanks guys, im still stoked when i compare it to the price of all the kits out there.

So i started on these today and have a few questions.

I've totally stripped them apart and plan on blasting them in the up coming weeks. Im already looking to reassemble so here goes the questions.

1. - There wasn't a gasket between the backing plates and spindles nor was there one between the backing plate and the plate retainer. I believe there should be one or maybe two? Anybody know for sure? I'd like to just cut one out of gasket paper or cork, is one better than the other?

2. - What size are the banjo bolts that hold the hoses to the caliper. I didn't get one to compare with.

3. - Is grease needed on the guide pins that hold the pads on? I've seen some different opinions on this, so im not sure.

4. - The bolts that hold the caliper bracket to the spindle had red locktite on it. Is there a specific torque they need to be seated? It also had some bailing wire through the bolt heads and around the spindle. Would any wire do, or is there something specific that should be used? See pic!

So, am I the only one wondering what the rest of the car looked like?
I'm pretty sure I know... you wouldn't believe some of the stuff that shows up at swaps in the rustbelt... those will clean up nicely
