69 Mustang Factory Disk Brakes (pics) Questions?

If anybody knows anything about 69's, or has access to a manual, i'd appreciate the help.

So i started on these today and have a few questions.

I've totally stripped them apart and plan on blasting them in the up coming weeks. Im already looking to reassemble so here goes the questions.

1. - There wasn't a gasket between the backing plates and spindles nor was there one between the backing plate and the plate retainer. I believe there should be one or maybe two? Anybody know for sure? I'd like to just cut one out of gasket paper or cork, is one better than the other? I cut two out of Cork today (one for each side) because thats what i had. I plan on it going between the spindle and dust shield only.

2. - What size are the banjo bolts that hold the hoses to the caliper. I didn't get one to compare with.

3. - Is grease needed on the guide pins that hold the pads on? I've seen some different opinions on this, so im not sure.

4. - The bolts that hold the caliper bracket to the spindle had red locktite on it. Is there a specific torque they need to be seated? It also had some bailing wire through the bolt heads and around the spindle. Would any wire do, or is there something specific that should be used? I have some 14 gauge steel wire left over from a dropped ceiling. I plan to just use that.

Well, i finally got one side cleaned up and ready to install. Now i just need to do the other one.

Great job Jake! Didnt the guys from the dry states tell you they were junk??? Mine looked the same, they are now on the shelf waiting to be installed all looking nice and new too.

Thanks guys, believe it or not, that's the same rotors too. Just needed a cut and its good to go. Best of all, i got them cut for free. Pads, wheel bearings and hoses, im only into these for about a hundred bucks and ill have front discs.

I wish the 65/6 were that cheap. I guess I will try to rebuild mine. Never had much success rebuilding brake cylinders but for the price I'm going to try.
