A rear end question

If you get really bored Dne, on the Trans Am I've got an issue that is giving me grief on my passenger side power lock and power window, i.e. neithe of them see to want to work though I now have the driver's side working great. I just haven't had more than 30 minutes here and there to look at it so I am not having much luck figuring it out.

I've already told my boss after April 15th I am taking a Friday off to spend some time in the garage. Left it open to the first Friday with nice weather, LOL!

Rusty, I know how you feel about finding time to get out there and put "diagnose" stuff! But it's great for making your brain work!! Now how tough could that be to find out why that side of your car isn't working?? kidding!

As for that 3:80 rear member, just too much gear for me~ I don't want to see my tach too high on freeways, just in the mediocre range. Teh 3:25 sounds pretty good. In the meantime, my stang is driveable and fun, and sounds great! enjoying the moment! ; )

I agree with the 3.80 being too much. I switched to a T5 in my 65 that I bought it for. Without overdrive, it would be more annoying than enjoyable.

Yep, it's about having the time.

Work has been insane lately so I haven't had a moment to spare there. Today I was busy literally all day long with the boys baseball stuff. Tomorrow is church then probably Aikido and have to help a friend move a couch and entertainment center at some point. I would skip Aikido tomorrow but the boys have a game on Tuesday and on Thursday who knows whether they'll have a practice or not because their idiot coach never gives anyone the practice schedule with more than a day's notice so I am not positive whether I'll make it to class next week at all so I should probably go while I can tomorrow. Ironically then the coach was complaining today about how some of the kids on the team miss more practices than they make?

Basically, I am getting pretty tired of both baseball season and tax season this year. I need to find some time to study a wiring diagram but not sure when. I also hate the shop manual for the TA because it's on disc and you can't just flip open the book when you have a few minutes in the evening.

Y would you have to take off ur proportioning valve and add a booster? the parking brake cable is an easy fix, i cut off the originals off, cut a slit down the explorers fitting and welded the cable to the fitting part way up the slit so as not to fatige where the cable moves and would brake. the other option which is the easiest fix but cost a few bucks is to pick up a set of these guys

You know, after driving my stang for a while, it's really not so bad with the stock rear end. ONly has a slight whine, at highway speeds the tach is only about 2800-3k, I don't haul ass off the line anyway here in Houston or anywhere else for that matter. I think I (and We) just get wrapped up in "what else can I do to my ride!" I installed my new Pioneer blue tooth radio and it sounds great and the phone system is awesome too(don't know about when I'm riding down the freeway though), and it looks really good!
I finally found a station that I can fill my tank up at full speed and my tank reads just below full!

I think it's time just to enjoy my product and quit "fixin it",

now I need to spend a little time on my '57 Chevy (exhaust mainly, seat belts, pretty the motor up) and that's about it,
now I've got the hots for an old truck just as a daily driver~ I'm looking at a '57 F100 right now~ I just want a beat up (not too beat up) truck that I can use daily!

I feel useless without a full blown project! :shrug I have a whole full garage full of tools and nothing major to work on! :roul

Look at the "dusty cars" post... my 66 Coupe may never get done... lol

If you are like me, I would buy a rough driver......6 months and it is looking better.....another 6 months and I am looking at paint......low cost repairs but just have a hard time driving "a beater". Wife tells me I cannot fix up the beater '93 Ranger....except maybe the tranny. lol
