Have you ever been before? Don't let all the negative press fool you. One of the very best big cities you could ever visit. For real. Just don't move to Illinois. It's become a hell on Earth thanks to decades of Democratic rule. But a long weekend visit is really a great time. Seriously.

This is true. The vast majority of us "Chicagoans" are really suburbanites. But I stand by my belief (experience) that the City and its immediate dwellers really are great.

Not sure how visiting the city has anything to do with owning a gun there. The downtown is as safe or safer than any you don't have concern there. Seriously. And yes, Emmanuel is a complete tool as are the other 90% of the liberal politicians who control the city/state but they do one thing well and that is make Chicago a great tourist stop...if you overlook the stupid taxes on everything!
As much as I hate to agree with Terry. Chicago is a great city to visit. I sure wouldn't want to live there. But that's the case with a lot of places. Don't go where you don't belong and your fine. I made that mistake once!
They have the best pizza!
My brother is a suburbanite of chicago. We take the family downtown all the time. Never felt unsafe. There are tons of things to do. Museums, Navy Pier, shed aquarium and more.
