yesterday, i went to look at a street rod a guy talked to me about painting last week at the knox show. i knew he had a few cars, but thought it was all pre 1950 stuff. after i looked at the car, he took me to the back of the shop to look at a 1920's oakland & hiding under junk piled up in the other corner is a 69 R-code mach 1. says he bought it from the original owner in 69 after the engine blew. claims he's gonna get it back roadworthy one day.... tried to take a pic with the camera phone, but was way too dark back there, so couldn't see anything. it was red w/ the gold mach stripe & looked like it had a period set of keystones & big bias ply tires on the rear (sticking about 4" out of the fenderwells.
