So after about 16 months after the crash I’ve been trying to ignore the elephant in my garage. I finally gave in and ordered parts needed to fix Cherylene. I had been holding out trying to source an original door, b pillar, and quarter panel. Trying to source original parts like that can turn into a lot time wasted playing phone tag and putting up with ignorant dipshits. So of course CJ Pony in all their inept glory sends me the correct, damaged, body parts (I don’t know how I got the door glass intact!). They did a fantastic job boxing and bubble wrapping my outer wheel house, not so good on the quarter panel-2 dents, and door-dented in four places. Quarter panel was bent but it’s ok because I’m going to use about 3/4 of it. The door is a major component and I would have hoped that Cj would have spent a a little more time protecting it. Maybe they should have woke up the styrofoam fairy from its drunken stupor and given it a bump or two so it could shit out a couple of 3’X5’ sheets of 1” foam to protect my door but oh well, I’m not going to tell them how to live their lives. So I need the door to move on and weld in the B pillar but ill have to wait and see what Cj says. I still have the disk brake conversion kit and new leaf springs so I’ve got a full plate. I also want to pull the Retrosound II and add an amp and some good speakers. I’ve also got to look at the hack job the alarm guy did installing the gps alarm system. So I’m just here polishing off this 12 pack and working on a game plan. I’m going to need a lot more 12 packs....living the dream.

Holy krap Batman! ZooowZiiiing.
Looks like some type of off road machine. One step and one day at a time. Have fun...with frustration no doubt.

So after a few emails and phone calls to CJ Pony I finally got them to send me another door. It only took a few days. Unfortunately the new door was delivered with a dent also. Other than that, it was is pretty good shape. After a phone call and back and forth emails to CJ we I decided that I wouldn’t chance another damaged part delivery from them. The y gave me a discount on the door and refunded me the difference. I was happy with that. Hopefully tomorrow I can find time to straighten out the damage on the door, hang it, and possibly tack weld in the B pillar and determine where I need to start my partial quarter skin and outer wheelhouse.

Worked about 3 hours today, definitely some fitment issues but it looks good so far. The drivers side is original and it has gaps like crazy so I’m not too concerned. I’m attaching the parts with some sheet metal screws and I’ve got a collection of welding clamps I got at New Braunfels swap meet a couple of years ago. I’ll come back with the mig once I’ve got everything lined up.
Finally coming along
