Best news ever!

Thanks all. We go Thursday for her first checkup. We told the soon to be grandparents last night. To say that they're excited is an understatement.

Congratulations! We bought a baby book when we had our first, we referred to it all the time, but on that fateful day at 5am, when my wife's water finally broke, we looked in the book and there was NOTHING about what to look for when the baby is actually ready to come out! Not a word, what does water breaking look like#!@!@# Needless to say, there is NO manual that's any good for how to take care of your kids, you'll have to wing it, look for signs when the baby wants something, when the baby is hungry, what it's doing before a BM, when it wants to sleep, and then suffer, cause the worrying starts and never ends. But that's Parent Hood, worth every minute of it. By the time the second one comes around you'll be seasoned professionals!

Mine are 11 and 7, Parenthood, it's a wonderful life!

One of my friends and her hubby just had their first back in Nov, and another couple is having their first this summer, then our turn in the fall. Not to mention, a few teachers my wife works with are all expecting. I swear it's something in the water here.

I'll second that, with one piece of additional advice - find someone that has raised 3+ children, years ago before the books came out. :bowdown

They'll be about 70+ now. Listen to them and judge what they say agaisnt your situation.

For us, we were lucky as both our Mothers are in that boat - and only give the advice when we ask. We ask frequently.

Congratulations on the good news. As a new dad (7 months ago now), You and the wife should get as much sleep as you possibly can now. Your entire life is going to change, but its for the best. And enjoy every second because it true that they change fast.

Congratulations.

I'm pretty big into photography, so one thing I did, was I made a little mark on the floor where I setup a chair and another where I set up the tripod. As Stefan was going through the super fast baby to toddler stage I would set him up and take a snap shot every other day. You would be amazed how quickly they grow and change.

Enjoy and wish you all the best.
