Brake Job

Trust me, I ain't judging...I'm just saying.

If the paint job is not a high priority for you at this time, then you (we all) make the choices and the compromises we can live with. If you're going for a DD, and are just looking for a cheaper paint job, then that's certainly your choice, and as I said in my first post, a decent paint job (especially if you're not changing colors, as you mentioned you weren't) can be had from a cheaper place, and painting the car together. I was just making sure you knew. At the end of the day it's only one man's car, and you won't offend me no matter what you do.

your car, your goals....Just make sure you understand the implications of the choices you make...that's all!

BTW if you're going DD, you're gonna want to work on Fuel Injection long before you look at rear discs. Yeah you can DD a carb car, but EFI completely changed the reliability and consistency a car was capable of. And I say this as a guy with a carb. If I was planning to DD my car, EFI would be on the "must do" list. Right now it's on the "Hope to do" list :)

The daily driver will be the 67 which has a 289 on it but you know what, EFI isnt a bad Idea, i was thinking about putting fuel injection on the Mach too though lol.

I've never done the conversion. I've heard once you have you'll never go back...though I've also known a guy or two who DID go back. Diff'rent strokes.

I didn't realize we were talking two different cars. Have you posted pictures? I need pictures :)

Hi there,I have a 66 mustang fastback with drums all around. We installed a dual master Cyl 3-4 years ago for safteys sake.. Now I have a disc brake kit for the front that I bought from ssbc about 3 years ago and now am getting ready soon to install the disc brake convertion. Being I have already installed the master Cyl where do I mount the Proportinal valve at and do the lines come out of that for the rear brakes only.Pic would be nice. I thank you for your time. God bless

I think you will have to change your master cylinder again for a bigger bore unit. Call SSBC about it. As for the proportional valve, it goes on the rear brakes line usually in the engine bay next to the master cylinder or below the junction block mounted to the fender apron originally. I installed mine on the interior transmission tunnel just in front of my seat.
