brake warning pressure switch and SSBC prop valve

Ok, before I start running the brake lines (installing PDB) I will be using the new SSBC all-in-one adjustable prop. valve:

Will the brake warning switch on it work with my factory wiring one?

Will the electrical signal from the sending unit on this SSBC unit correctly activate my dash light if I loose pressure? I'm guessing that I connect one of the 'tits' to my wire and ground the other? I'll have to look at my stock switch to see if it has 1 contact or 2 ('67 original drum/drum nonpwr). I know the stock warning switch won't work on the SSBC piece since it has a pin sticking down that has to be pushed in by a sliding vavle in the stock prop valve.
Thanks, Jon

Yes, it will work, or you can unscrew the SSBC sender and install a stock sender so you dont have to cut your wiring harness. I'm running the same prop valve in mine.

You're kidding, so the stock 'pin' type switch will work correctly screwed into the SSBC unit, this is what you're using? If you're using the SSBC switch how did you wire it?
Doesn't there have to be a sliding valve that pushes the pin in for the stock switch to work?
I didn't think there was any chance it would work as the SSBC switch (universal GM type) just has a hole in the bottom for fluid to push into? as I remember (not home to look).

Mine is actually not plugged up. The stock switch fits, I had mine in there and then realized it was cracked, so I have the SSBC switch in there, but not plugged up, I had planned to swap it with a stock switch, just havent got around to it. I really didnt want to cut the stock connector off if I didnt have to.

Ok, you lost me, you put the stock one in but it was cracked (did it ever work and make the brake warning light work?)
Then you put the SSBC provided one in but didn't wire it up? so I take it you don't know if it works properly.
So did you hook up and wire either and get them to work?

Sorry, I lost my self with that one.... I do have that SSBC prop valve, I did put the stock switch in it. The shop that did my exhaust finished the hydraulic clutch and bleed the brakes one everything was in the car. The prop valve was leaking at the switch, they found the crack and installed the SSBC switch, but they never connected it, I just noticed that tonight. Sorry, wasnt as much help as I thought I would be...

I did the SSBC thing a while ago too! I went from non power for power front disc conversion. I put the new switch in, but plan not to use it for the time being. when you're connecting your brake lines, that switch needs to be removed in order to get your flarenut wrench on the flarenut, then you can put whatever switch you want back in. I made a little bracket to hold the unit to the apron, came out pretty good! I bought a pair of brake tube bending pliers from Summit racing that helped with bending my new brake lines. Wore my wrists out, but couldn't have done the job without them!
Hope this helps. I haven't had the opportunity to try my brakes out yet :cry! maybe soon!

Darn, I didn't answer your question! I feel like an idiot~ it's been so long and I'm not exactly sure what the switch was for! I think big oil sender looking switch mainly is for activating your rear brake lights, you step on the brake pedal, the pressure then causes contact in the new ssbc swtch and rear brake lights come on? You won't have a pressure differential switch anymore to activate the idiot light on the dash? did I make any sense?

I will say installing the thing wasn't a "snap" and I had the motor out while doing it! lol

Dne',

Great job on installing the SSBC prop valve and bending the new lines. I'm embarrassed to admit that your install looks nicer than mine....

You may want to move (slightly) the rear brake line coming off of the master cylinder... it looks like it's rubbing up against the fender apron a little bit.

Yes, the brake pressure differential switch will activate the brake lights on vehicles that aren't using a pedal hanger mounted switch.

Gosh, that makes me feel really good hearing a compliment from a Superstanger! Thanks DAve! I've taken care of that rubbing line!

I bent my lines using various sized rounded objects laying around the shop..... like the back of my skull.... don't laugh, it works!, but it just isn't always as pretty.
