Clutch Pedal Staying on the Floor

The pivot I was referring too is the one inside the bellhousing. If too short, the end would move rearward (closer to your H pipe), a longer one would move the end more forward thus giving you more stroke at the pressure plate before bottoming out. They do sell adjustable pivots but I'm not sure which one would work for you... here's one possibilty.

I believe the stock pivot is actually a spring clip style and not a pivot ball inside. Someone please correct me if I am wrong on that though? I will definitely look into seeing if there is any adjustment on it though. I greatly appreciate the insight!

It's been so long since I looked at all of this but you are on the right track. There are small block, 390 and 428 parts plus year differences. The clip/pivot on the fork depends on what your bell housing uses.

I had to source everything and went with Mansfield parts for almost all the parts and clips. Just give Bill a call he is a very nice guy.

My pivot sprint on the outside clutch fork hits my exhaust but I had everything installed before exhaust and I still had a slight interference. There is not a lot of room in there for the connector from the exhaust.

My clutch fork was Pre 68 and used this retaining clip. I originally had the other clip type on the fork and had to swap so I remember this well.

Bill at Mansfield has been a huge help throughout the entire process of getting everything correct on this car. Not only is he a super nice guy, but he is also incredibly knowledgeable. Did you end up having to dent the exhaust for the extra clearance?

And the fun continues! I finally had some time to pull the clutch fork, and when I did, I was surprised to see it was actually a C8AA-7515-B clutch fork - or in other words, for a 68-71 small block or 71 Boss 351 motor! That particular fork is 5/16" longer than what should have been in there, plus uses different angles. That all certainly makes sense now for why everything wasn't fitting up right and I was experience so many clearance issues. Chock this one up to another great "what the PO did" story.

I am getting here late sorry, looks like you got this figured out.

I actually have a good picture of the correct fork installed.
