Completely non-mustang related restoration project before and after

Some of you know that I am trained as a watchmaker and I restore old watches as a hobby. I just finished the restoration of a nice Corum watch for a friend. I failed to take before and after pics of Jerry Coleman's watch when I restored it, but here is a before and after shot of the Corum. Came out really nice. the restoration cost as much as the value of the watch, but it was sentimental.

Damn! Great job. But I guess when you are accustomed to working with small things, watch repair comes second nature.

probably my best one was this 1936 weems navigation watch. i did farm out the mech on this one as i was afraid i would screw up on something valuable, but relumed the hands/dial , polished the case, installed new crystal etc. myself. i sold this one to fund my ar-15.

if you are interested, i've got an old pocketwatch thats been handed down thru the family that needs a servicing (probably just a cleaning/oiling) & also have a WW2 elgin a-8 bomb timer that needs work....

That one on the far right must be one of those stealth jobs..Nice work BTW

ha! actually, that is a band i was in the process of reproducing for the one next to it (yes, i sew, but i'm NOT :homo) . it is the ww1 trench watch & at almost 100 yrs old, i didn't want to take a chance on damaging the original band.

Very cool that we have some watch geeks on the forum.

I need to have this one restored..

Don't you DARE touch that watch. Mechanical repairs are fine, but leave the dial and hands alone. That is a very rare and valuable model. Pm me for details.

Nice work. Longines made those for the Navy. Ought to be worth $750 to $1000 retail, more with USN numbers.

Pm me? Elgin artillery timers are tough old stop watches.
