Cool find yesterday

My job takes me all over New York City so I'm always seeing cool areas I didn't know existed. Currently I'm working in Brooklyn and while waiting around for a contractor to show I see what looks undeniably like a Mustang across the street in a yard that's housing various trucks. I go over for a closer look and find this:

Looks like it was converted for racing somewhere along the line. Fender aprons were removed with tube bracing replacing it, maybe a Mustang II setup? Dash was gone with simple race style dash and steering wheel in its place, plexiglass replacing the quarter windows, shackles up the wazoo. I couldn't get close enough to see how bad the rust was but its clearly been sitting around with no door glass for a while. I left a note with my business card but I doubt I'll hear back. People in this neighborhood are very skeptical of folks they don't know poking around. Not that I have time and or space for another project but what the hell, it doesn't hurt to ask.

Cool find Carl, I wish I had a job that got me out of the office. I don't even have a window. :cry(sorry for venting) Did you decide to keep the 67?

Good for you, leaving the note. Can't hurt anything, and you could always flip it, if the guy decides to cash out.

Abe, at this point the 68 isn't costing me anything to keep except for some anguish every time I look at it. Its listed for sale in several places at more than I think anyone would pay for it so I figure if someone makes it worth my while I'll let it go. What I would really like to do and may end up doing is waiting for a cheap better body to come along and swap everything into that. I would mind putting everything into a clean shell, god knows when I'd find time for that though. Maybe I need to range a BBQ.

John, I agree. If nothing else everyone wants fastbacks so I know there's a market for it. Now I just need to convince him to sell and hope hes not expecting to make bank with this car. Like I say, it didn't hurt to ask.

Cool find. I would follow up on it, Looks like it has the brake ducts in the rear quarters and with the Shelby vent windows......... you never know.....

It actually did have the brake ducts cut into the quarters. And with the plexiglass windows I thought maybe..... not likely but who knows.

There is never a bad time for a BBQ, except for when its raining. LoL

Glad to hear your doing well. Hopefully the guy isn't asking for too much and gives you a chance to make a move on it. Sweet find for sure.

Abraham, Dont complain. My job takes me all over the country and the world. I am in Newburgh NY until tomorrow and will be in Indiana next week then Delaware the week after then back to New York then Northern CHile the week after and will spend the entire summer in Kazekstan, wherever the hell that is. LOL I wish I was at home more so I could work on my cars.

Yikes, only my parents call me by Abraham or the GF when she is pissed. By all means, anyone on here can call me by Abe. Your probably right though, seeing some sunshine would then probably mess with my productivity day, dreaming of having a cold one in Santa Cruz.

Sorry for sidetracking the thread a little.
