Edelbrock carb vs other brands

It's an aftermarket unit for sure, Midlife might jump me if I say where I actually bought it from :shy.
My dear, you don't have to say another word! I'll be right over! :pbj

Dne',

You may certainly state which AC system you installed. It's only in the "vendor evaluation" board where we try not to compare different companies/vendors. Within ALL other boards you can state "I bought a Holley carb" Or "I installed a Classic Air AC system" without any worries.

oH, ok! :eek:mg That makes sense! Thanks Dave! I bought my system from Classic air :scar and it's a very nice system! :amaz

As long as you had air flow over the a/c unit, engine temp should not raise the output temp that bad. When you serviced it, did you use the gauges or just fill it till the site glass was clear? Over or under filled will screw up the output temps.

Hmmm, Classic is the one I will be doing for my '66.

Am I the only Edelbrock owner here? lol:)

First thing, move the accelerator pump linkage to the inner-most hole on the pump arm. If that doesn't work, you may need to replace the accelerator pump with a different, high volume pump.

If it only does it while idling and not while driving, you may richen up the idle mix a bit (turn the idle mix screws in).

No you are not......my issue with them is that I am on the first one I ever owned and have not needed to adjust anything yet. Always had Holleys until I bout Johnpro's '66. Gotta learn about them. Any carb should be able to be adjusted properly given the right touches as long as it is not broke first.

Pete, read this; I used ac gauges. I believe getting the lowest vent temp would be having the windows rolled up and recirculating the AC'd air. My doors were open to hot air, my shifter was out of its hole allowing engine heat into the cabin. The system IMHO is an excellent fit! I did this install I believe as well as a professional could do it ; )

I was running the cars AC in my garage, I did have a power cat(squirrel cage fan) fan in front, and both electric fans came on(one fan would cycle). The air in the cabin wasn't being recirculated and it was really warm, or hot I should say. The gauges were 25-30/225-250 and the lines were pretty cold. The heater control valve I did help it to close a little better by hand, needs a little more adjustment to close with the control lever. The sightglass was clear of bubbles. I had it idling about 1500 rpm. I'm hoping that maybe once outside with air rushing into the condensor may help. the outside temp was about 97 and in the garage maybe hotter with the car running. I did evacuate the system for 45 minutes prior and held vacuum overnight, so that was good. So, what do you think Pete?

I bought a Holley Street Avenger 570 for my 5sp 302 w/ 5.0 cam and early GT40 alum heads and I wouldn't wish it on your worst enemy. But the hotter it gets the better it runs, I don't know either. I am working on a Mustang based EFI sys. using a explorer intake. Check out RJMinjectiontech.com for wiring harness and other parts and info. Sorry, I can't help with carb problem. KG

You're not the only Edlebrock owner. Both my cars have them. I took the holly off my 65 for an Edelbrock. It was just plug and play. It runs a bit rich, but it runs like a scalded dog now. Before, it was doggy! I need to freshen up the one on the 67. It has been sitting for a while.
