EDP Coating

Would you

  • scuff up the EDP coating followed by primer and paint?

Need help deciding which is the best course of action. I have heard and seen some photographs of EDP coating peeling from under the paint :hide but some say they have never had a problem with painting over EDP coated parts.
 
Weld into place and then scuff up with 320-400 grit paper followed by primer and paint.
 
i always remove the coating (if possible) using aircraft stripper. it lifts pretty easily.

however my time is free.

i did find what appeared to be rust on my wheelhouse underneath the coating. who knows, maybe this rust type stuff is common yet few people realize it because it's not often removed with stripper.
