Efi conversion - fuel setup

I'm converting to factory ford EFI from a 93 model. What tank, and pump would be best to run for a roughly 285-300 HP 5.0? In tank pump and baffled tank is what I'm thinking.
Thanks for any help.

I am using a stock fuel tank with an inline canister filter then an Aeromotive A1000 pump. I have over 550 rwhp and haven't had any issues with starvation. I use the drain plug for the return line.

So no baffles? That sounds good. I guess you just keep your tank more than 1/4 full?

A Walbro 255 is more than enough. I would suggest you use a sump for the pickup and use the original supply hookup for the return, don't forget to remove the sock if you go this route.

I have a similar setup, but am using the Walbro 255 on a 306 with 70mm throttle body. Have not lacked for fuel as of yet. I too am using the drain plug for the return line and mounted the pump just in front of the tank. I can find some pictures if you need.

No baffles an I have run it below 1/4 tank. I think the canister filter provides enough flow for small disruptions due to lack of baffling. Mustangs To Fear has a nice setup if you want an in tank pump.

If you can follow this spaghetti, this is my fuel system. I have a low pressure fuel pump that feeds the canister filter (which holds about a quart of fuel). Then I'm running a Mallory fuel pump that is rated at 60 gph (about 225 lph) to feed the injectors. On the return line I have a tee that dumps fuel back into the accumulator tank (if the gas tank runs dry) and, also, back into the gas tank. I've run down way under 1/4 tank, and have never had any issues. The only change I've made since the pic, is adding a fuel filter , and swapped out the Ron Morris sending unit for a McRobb unit.

My original style sending unit is out.....should I replace it with the one you have? My tank is around two years old, don't remember if I got one with the drain plug or not.

I reworked an after market sending unit and fit a 5/16 return line into the face of the sending unit, drilled an 1/8" hole and then used a tapered punch to expand the hole to fit the 5/16 tubing and then soldered the tube into place. For a pump I'm just using a single MSD 2225 pump and a stock EFI fuel filter. I don't usually run less than a 1/4 tank of fuel and have never had a starvation issue even runing it at the track... Mine is a 331, with 30# injectors and 5/16 fuel lines.

Where would i go about finding this low flow pump and filter?

Found a fuel pump new in the box in my storage room. I think I bought it about ten years ago when I first wanted to do this conversion.

Carter P74025. I can't find any fuel flow info online, but it appears to be from an 8-91 Lincoln Mark VII. I will proceed as if it will work.
