Engine Paint

No clear. Just clean and spray.

I used Dupli-color's engine enamel #DE1613 gloss black. Very happy with it.

I was thinking of using Dupli-color since I did the steering column with the Dupli-color color match and I liked how it sprayed out of a can.

VHT has ceramic resin? Whatever that is but sounds cool.
 
Stopped at the auto parts store this afternoon (after I checked on Gertrude - sorry no cowl pics yet to share!) and picked up some more Engine Brite, wool pads, and a can of #DE1613. Time to make that engine purrrty!!
 
Make sure to use a real painter's degreaser as your final clean up step prior to painting. Paint job will look better and hold up so much better.
 
Yeah I also have a bottle of wax/tar degreaser stuff. :thu I'm using the engine brite to get the baked on stuff off first.
