Face Sliced and Diced Today

Yay, I took off the big bandage this morning (a little early) because I couldn't handle it any longer. I still have a smaller bandage that I can remove this afternoon, and then the surgical glue will slowly come off over the next week. I'm glad to see that the incision is about 2 inches, rather thn 3 inches. And, I can drink tonight!

Best wishes toward a speedy recovery, Laurie...
Use a lot of aloe vera on the closed wound once you can remove the bandaging to minimize the scarring...
The jelly from a live plant is infinitely better than an over the counter product in my experience...

I keep aloe vera plants in my yard for just that reason. When I had hip replacement surgery, I used Vitamin E and the gel from a slice of aloe vera twice a day. My surgeon was amazed and I have no scar today. I swear by the stuff!

You think maybe you are getting too much sun while diving and on the boat? I imagine it would be hard to keep the sunblock on while diving.

I'm really careful to keep reapplying sunscreen. My boat has a Bimini canvas roof, so we have shade when we're on the boat. I think the biggest problem is reflection from the water and other places. I'm also in the sun a lot being an archaeologist, and at car shows. Have to be even more careful now.

I'm doing pretty well. Fortunately, I do heal fast and the incision is closed. I had more of a reaction from the surgical glue, which irritated my face badly, and there's still a little swelling. I'm using Vitamin E on the cut, and will have some Aloe Vera starting today.
