Fast and Loud Mustang

Did you guys see the Fast and Loud TV episode where he tries to flip a 67 vert? He did a nice job on the car but then it got wrecked before he could sell it! Other driver at fault but had no insurance and the Fast and Loud guy is out a bunch of money. He claimed the car was totaled but I have seen worse cars fixed.
Also in the past week or so I saw a Wheeler Dealers episode where they flip a 67 fastback. Painted the car to look like the Bullitt car. They did a OK job as well, 67 Mustangs getting some TV time!

I haven't seen those but I agree the 67/68's are becoming more and more popular. My first car was a 67 and I have had at least one in my possession since I was 15. Back then, the 65/66 was probably the most popular of the classic Mustangs. Now I think it's the 67!

Yep saw it. A front clip and it's good to go.

Scheduled to re-air this afternoon at 3PM EST on discovery

The F&L boys flip cars...they don't care about them. He'll get his money back easy....but he'll have to work at it instead of fast talking a sale.

The Wheeler dealer in Britain just loves muscle even if he gets his details wrong.....that famous '67 Bullitt. :yah

I love Wheeler Dealers! I love how excited Mike and Edd get over classic cars. I also love hearing the Queens english, What a lovely motor!

Saw the Wheeler Dealers episode when it aired. Ok, so they're Brits and they may not know a whole lot about Stangs. They did do a nice job though. When it comes to F&L, I didn't see it when it aired. A friend told me about it and I recorded and watched it today. There's an hour I'll never get back (which is why I don't normally watch these two idiots anyhow!). Normal exaggerated drama. Totaled huh? Want a car that isn't worht anything now huh? Sure, I'll take it off their hands for $100. It's a deal for them because "it's not worth anything anymore"!

During the last biker build off in which these two participated, Paul Teutel Sr. called Richard, "Dick" for short. Now you may or may not care for the Teutels, but I think Paul Sr. hit the nail on the head! And his little weasel Aaron wouldn't know a decent car if it ran over him. "Dick" is nothing more than a sleazy used car salesman with a bunch of loser shade tree mechanics working for him (as is par for the course with lemon dealers). HOW in the WORLD do all these morons get on TV (American Hot Rod, Wrecks to Riches, Graveyard Carz...the list goes on!)?!!!! :rant

I watched it and there were tons of issues, but totlled? the average viewer is going to think this butt hole knows what he is talking about. Totaled my butt!

Yes there is damage, and yes it sucks there is no insurance, yes he is a small business and he could turn it in to his insurance. He should since the cost of repair isn't huge and the work would actually be done right. It won't cause his rates to go up since it would be covered under uninsured motorist and the insurance company would go after the other driver and his assets to get their money back.

If these guys knew anything they would be dangerous.

Oh, and the Asian lady complaining how hard Mustang seats are to cover...What an idiot! All she had to do is get a kit like everyone else does and put it together. Which is likely what she did, she was just playing it up for the cameras.

The money these losers get for absolute junk is unreal!

I must say that the car did look nice.

I really don't like any of those shows and only watch them once in a while.

Mel

I just think its cool both shows featured 67 Mustangs. I agree most of us could do a better show but who would watch us? We would bore everyone who does not own a Mustang with details. I do like the focus on originality on Graveyard Carz but all the drama drives me nuts. I have to wonder if that guy has a life, he has color numbers committed to memory. He is a car nerd!

Graveyard carz could be a great show if they focused on the cars and not the lives of people we could care less about. I don't understand why all these shows need to be scripted?

All I want is, to see those car in real.
By then you should have a whole other idea of those "SHOWS".
IMHO.

I could be wrong but the one and only I am interested in is overhaulin. These should be very very nice cars ( read $$$$$)
Yes , overhaulin is one great commercial but the car speaks for itself.
again , MHO.

I have to agree with this!

Ok, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that thought they were crazy for saying that 67 was totaled. Dad and I had come in from working on the Mustang and waiting for the kids to wake up before starting the drive home. We saw the car and I couldn't for the life of me see a reason that car was totaled. Yes, it was going to take a little work to get it going again, but I'd take it. And I want to know who he was fooling when he said he was going to take a $20k loss on it. Whatever.

I also agree that Overhaulin' was the best of the car fix shows. The wife told me a couple years ago that she submitted the Mustang several times. If only we lived on the west coast.

I have heard horror stories about the some of the first cars that came out of Overhaulin' Building a quality car in a week, no matter how big a crew, can't be done. Things get skipped, paint gets rushed.....

Plus if someone else builds your car where is that final satisfaction of that first drive after all your hard work?

I also had my wife submit Amber to Overhauling, never got any reply. I am glad NOW that she is done and I can say I did all the work myself.

Yes , all begin is difficult but it is a matter of a good organisation and believe me , they have learned through the progress of the shows.
At one point they drilled little holes in the hinges when the orig car had proper alignment of doors , hoods ect.
At reassembling times , things went faster to align.
Its a big crew where evrybody has it specialties.
I think its doweble to do it in a week. ( not a 9to5 job )
again , my 2 eurocents are involved here .

I agree Bruno that Overhaulin' actually builds/rebuilds a car rather than invest in the BS of the 'stars' but OH isn't without its problems.

The '69 Mustang they did at SEMA a few years back looked great but never ran right. The owners begged OH to make it right but they never did. Owners sold it soon after.
Most people that get their cars redone actually can't afford to keep them after because they were basic transportation and now they are show cars...not something you leave out on the street.

Watch a RR of that episode. The Black Mustang is far from being totaled and should take them no more than a few days to get it back right. Course it will make a great tax write off "if" they ever make any money.........ha-ha. :sarc

I know that guy that was on the episode last night selling the two ponchos. He was a sales rep that we used to buy from when i worked for Honda. Small world.
